syndication
An arrangement in which two or more banks lend directly to the same borrower pursuant to one loan agreement. Each bank in the syndicate is a party to the loan agreement and may receive a note from the borrower evidencing the debt. Banks involved in syndicated transactions often sell some or all of their allotment in the credit facility. American Banker Glossary
